Abstract

Hafiz Muhammad Sherani was a modern scholar of his time and a “Man of Research”. He is counted among the genius working people. “Makalat-e-Sherani” has been compiled by this grandson, Mazher Mahmood Sherani, in eight volumes. These articles are very important and a beacon for future researchers. The 1st and 2nd volumes of “Makalat Sherani” are about the beginning and evolution of the Urdu Language. Volume 3rd contains five main articles on classical literature, and the 4th volume is based on Ferdowsi. Volume five criticised “Sher ul Ajam” and 6th deals with Persian literature. The 7th volume of “Makalat-e-Sherani” is about “Raj Rasa”, and the 8th is related to books on the syllabus and coins.
