The topic of "khwab Rau" is migration and nostalgia. The main character is a mad person named Mirza Kamal-ud-din. He shifted to Karachi from Lucknow at the time of partition. But as he reached there, he wanted to return. People very quickly built the streets and houses as they had in Lucknow. In this way, he started to think that he was in Lucknow. He got lost in the world of his imagination. He did not come out of this world for several years. Talking to flowers, expressing love to his wife several times a day, and loving his granddaughter became his routine. He came out of his imaginary world when his house was bombarded. He was at his brother-in-law Hakeem's villa at the time. His wife, eldest son, elder daughter-in-law, and granddaughter Surraya were killed in this blast. Now he started saying he wanted to go to Lucknow. He went there for a few days. His wife, elder son, elder daughter-in-law, and Surraya were waiting there. The novel is not up to the mark due to its novelistic technique. There are many loopholes in it.
