Dr. Maqsood Jafari's Social Awareness in the Context of Ghazals

Abstract

Dr Maqsood Jafari is a renowned scholar and Urdu poet. He also wrote poetry in English, Persian, Punjabi, and Kashmiri, along with his poetic work in Urdu. His poetic work includes Nazms and Ghazals. He is considered a prominent poet of modern ghazal. The topics of his work in Ghazal are diverse. A literary scholar is influenced by his surroundings, and his work depicts them. Dr Maqsood Jafari's work depicts the contemporary condition in his work. In his poetry, he mentioned many problems of the present time, especially the major problems like economic imbalance, injustice, political instability, lies, and hypocrisy spread in this society. The impact of the aforementioned aspects is immense on society, and a letter gets distressed by them, and the same can be observed in the works of Dr Maqsood Jafari. This research article portrays Dr Maqsood Jafari's depiction of social issues in his poetry.
