Fundamentals of Biography

Biography is a branch of history that deals with the life histories of individual humans and is also a branch of literature. Biography is a narrative which seeks, consciously and artistically, to record the action and recreate the personality of an individual's life. Pure biography is a truthful and deliberate record of an individual’s life written as a work of literature, but there are lots of biographies that are not written artistically. The three behaviors found in this type of biography are partiality, impartiality, and prejudice. These kinds of biographies are unable to recreate the personality of an individual. The writer must give a true portrait of an individual without any attempt at flattery or condemnation. His prejudices must be avoided. Personality, material and literary style are the main principles of a biography. The main condition of a good biography is its readable form.
