Abstract

The prolific Pakistani writer Intizar Hussain is regarded as one of the most important contemporary Urdu writers. He wrote short stories, novels, poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. The present research deals with the recurring ureases of social tragedies and incidents, migration violent and terrorist attacks after partition, the catastrophic wars, nostalgia, disorientation, and displacement. The research is qualitative in nature. Intizar Hussain’s short stories eloquently depict current social catastrophes and human sufferings. These stories address contemporary topics such as human suffering, degradation of mankind, and societal paradoxes with a deft combination of reality and emotional depth. His characters and locations serve as evocative representations of a quickly changing world, providing significant insights into the intricacies of human existence as well as contemporary sociocultural difficulties. He masterfully reflected the realities of contemporary tragedies, encapsulating the struggles, conflicts, and sufferings of modern society. His narratives are deeply rooted in the socio-cultural landscape, portraying the human condition amidst crises such as displacement, loss of identity, and moral decline. His works serve as a mirror to the collective pain and resilience of humanity, making them timeless and universal.
