Ghalib was a legend. His famous letters written to different personalities are asset for Urdu literature. Researchers and prominent scholars edited his letters and made some rules of editing. Khwaja Ahmad Farooqi, Ghulam Rasul Mehar, Hafiz Mehmood Sherani, Qazi Abdul Wadood, Rashid Hassan, Syed Muzaffar Hussain Barni, Khaliq Anjum, Naseem Ahmad and Mushfiq Khawaja are the prominent editors of letters of Ghalib. They searched out many historical facts and incidents of the history of the sub-continent and life of Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib.
