Arshad Meraj started taking part in the poetic gatherings of ‘Halqa Arbab-e-Zouq’ in 1990. His first collection, ‘Katha Neelay Pani Ki’, was published in 2006. This anthology introduced a new poetic temperament and sensibility. In 2019, his second collection, ‘Doston Key Dermean’, was published; there was a unique taste for readers and enthusiasts of poetry in it. The extraordinary characteristic of Meraj’s poetry is that he gave a special place to modern and ultra-modern themes in his poetry. There is such a multi-colored fascination in this book as exists in one day-to-day life. The human plight, practices, affairs, and tragedies especially become the centre of his attention. There are candid and frank dialogues with friends that are kept in perspective. This meditation covers most of the contemporary issues. In ‘Doston Key Dermean’, we find a dissatisfied person who wails against modern life and attributes born as a consequence of it.
